Especially, I’m interested in its starting in the banking business. If Wal-Marts are going to start banking, Wal-Mart and the consumer will have a lot of benefits and it is going to be convenient for people. However, there are also a lot of problems with making banking in Wal-Mart. According to D. Irvin (2005), Wal-Mart wants to have banking in their stores, which would make more customers attend. Wal-Mart has more than one thousand bank branches. Workers of banks care mostly about their job; small bank owners are very worried about Wal-Mart though. Wal-Mart failed because small bank owners didn’t want that to happen; government didn’t either. Although there are people who disagree with Wal-Mart’s making banks in their stores, Wal-Mart believes it’s a good deal for both the Wal-Mart companies and customers. Wal-Mart has been known for their ongoing growth and expansion and would do anything to have their customers continue to return. M. Barbaro (2005) also said that the small banks are worried about Wal-Mart’s bank taking over their business and causing them to lose customers. They are afraid that Wal-Mart will build other banks, and afraid because Wal-Mart has a lot of customers. However, Wal-Mart is still continuing to build banking. "The people who shop at Wal-Mart can decide whether that is good for them or not. But the intelligentsia are worried about something called Wal-Mart's ‘"Market power’" (Sowell, 2003, par. 3).

We should encourage banking in Wal-Mart for three reasons. There are a lot more benefits than disadvantages.

First, if Wal-Mart has a bank, we can buy goods at lower prices than before because they won’t have to pay a charge to the customers’ own bank. Now, a lot of customers use a card, especially a debit card in Wal-Mart, but their bank companies are different from Wal-Mart companies. Therefore, Wal-Mart is paying some cost to a lot of banks which are used by customers. However, if Wal-Mart makes its own banks, it need not pay money. Then, it is possible to sell lower-priced goods than before, because of no charge for other banks.

In fact, now, because Wal-Mart doesn't have a bank, they have to pay huge quantities of money for credit and debit card companies. However, if they make their own bank in their stores, they can save the company million of dollars in fees. Those savings will be used to give customers lower prices (Pasha, 2005). I think its costs will be are reduced by not only paying less charges to other banks but also getting charges from other banks when customers use Wal-Mart’s card at other stores. If so, more and more customers are going to go to Wal-Mart to buy stuff than before. I think this is good for both customers and Wal-Mart. People can buy goods more cheaply than before. In Japan, there is an OMN card which is made by Daiei supermarket company. Customers who have an OMC card can buy goods with10 percent off of everything or get three times as many points as usual. That point can be changed to credit deposit ticket. I think our expenses are going to be small by the grace of this system.

In addition, if users increase, Wal-Mart can grow and be profitable. Also, it may give money which it gets to benefit stockholders. It means that it also has provided a wonderful return for stockholders, who are Wal-Mart workers and investors (Beard, 2004). It may be possible to make new stores. In fact, Wal-Mart is getting foreign advancement now. There are Wal-Marts in Japan, Korea, Mexico and so on.

In addition, people can get benefits from tie-in promotions with the bank and the grocery. A lot of card companies execute that; when customers use their own card company card, they can get some points. After its points get full, the customer can get some coupons as money. Only making and using Wal-Mart’s own card will have benefits for customers. In Japan, there is a university which was made by Daiei company. This university is called University of Marketing and Distribution Sciences. Students in this university have an OMC card, and then they can only use this card in the campus. As a benefit, they can use this card at a convenience store on campus or in a cafeteria with a cheaper price. That card can be changed from being usable only on campus to being usable everywhere until the graduation ceremony.

In addition, when people get a debit or credit card, they need to provide private information like their name, address, birthday and so on. When a company can get their information, they can send direct mail for sales or birthday cards for presents. Customers can get a lot more benefits if they have Wal-Mart’s own card. In my case, I have a JAL card. And then, my airplane ticket is discounted when I use JAL airplane in my birthday month. I think it is good plan, and also it is discounted not only for airplane tickets but also hotels, restaurants and so on which participate with JAL. Because there are a lot more benefits, it’s good to make a bank in a Wal-Mart.

Next, it is natural to make a bank in Wal-Mart because we are a capitalism. We have free market capitalism. It is an economic and political system in which business belongs mostly to private owners, not to the government. Government doesn’t control people. We can do whatever we want. Therefore, Wal-Mart officials should have the freedom to make a bank in their stores. "Free markets and freedom of choice: These American values are the true victims of this war on the Wal-Marts of this world. Consumers must let their voices be heard and tell their city representatives to stop discriminating against business, large and small" (Beard II, 2004, par. 15). No one should complain about making a bank in a store. And then, as a result, customers are going to get convenience. In addition, "in a capitalist system the power ultimately belongs to the consumer. This means the only way Wal-Mart can undercut competition with lower prices is by increasing sales volume and making up the difference in price" (Lovegren, 2005, par.20).

I think capitalism is a good economic system for customers. We can make a decision prices when people sell something. Customers are free, whether we want to buy or not. If we are satisfied with its price, we buy. If we don't want to buy with its price, we don't have to buy. Because The United States of America is capitalism, people can do everything they want. To leave it up to customers is to be good for customers. Therefore, Wal-Mart should make a bank in their stores without thinking about the government. Wal-Mart should just do it.

Finally, if Wal-Mart has a bank, it can sell market things and loan money in Wal-Mart. If so, it will be very convenient for customers, because it can be possible to sell more goods than before by using loan money to customers. For example, at least, it can sell a car, a house or even a helicopter. I think that Wal-Mart is a very big company and there is a network so they can sell high-class goods. If there are loans, both people who have much money and not enough money can use Wal-Mart. "Wal-Mart would have privileged access to its competitors' financial records through loan documentation" (Schneider, 2006, par5).

Wal-Mart can change from just a supermarket to like a department store. They can sell exclusive goods in their stores like Gucci, Hermes and so on. When there are not only cheap goods but also high-grade goods in Wal-Mart, more and more customers will want to use Wal-Mart than before. For example, there is a chain store which is called Don Quixote in Japan. There is everything we want with low price like groceries, commodities and so on like Wal-Mart, but there is only one thing different. Don Quixote sells brand-name goods like Chanel, Armani and so on. These are also sold at a low price. If Wal-Mart also sells brand-name goods with a lower price than other shops, a lot of customers will want to go Wal-Mart and will be happy with the cheap price. In fact, lots of customers need and love Don Quixote in Japan. Of course, my friends and I love Don Quixote. People of my age like brand-name goods, but it's very expensive for us. However, there are these goods with lower prices. In addition, not only my generation but also my mothers' generation likes Don Quixote because there are also groceries and convenience goods there.

Now, people who have low incomes use Wal-Mart a lot because there are so many cheap goods. However, if there are brand-name goods in Wal-Mart, not only people who have low incomes but the also rich will want to go to Wal-Mart to find something with lower prices than other stores. Therefore, more and more customers will want to use Wal-Mart than before. Wal-Mart should make a bank in their stores to help us live more comfortably than before.

Wal-Mart is trying to enter the banking business. However, small banks are afraid of making a bank in Wal-Mart because they may lose their customers or go out of business. I know if small banks go out of business, workers at small banks can't earn money. There are a lot more benefits to making a bank in Wal-Mart for customers. I think that Wal-Mart is loved by a lot of people and to develop Wal-Mart is like to develop our life.

In my case, when I go to Wal-Mart, I can have fun, even if I don't have anything to buy. I think there is a reason. When I go window shopping at Wal-Mart, I feel very excited because goods are sold with much lower price than other stores. That's why people love Wal-Mart. It's important for customers to be sold goods with cheap prices. Therefore, we should accept making it and support it. When Wal-Mart has a bank, life may be more convenient for people than before.

Barbaro, M. (2005, October 15). Bankers oppose Wal-Mart as rival. Small banks believe customers will take their money out of the smaller banks and put it in Wal-Mart banking. Although Wal-Marts are feared by smaller banks, Wal-Mart is still continuing to build banking.

There are three reasons that it’s a good idea to make a bank in Wal-Mart.

First, if Wal-Mart has a bank, it doesn’t have to pay a charge to the customers' own bank. I think that Wal-Mart is a very big company and there is a network so they can sell high-class goods. If there is loan, both people who have much money and not enough money can use Wal-Mart.

Small banks are afraid of making a bank in Wal-Mart because they may lose their customers. Surely, there are a lot of benefits to make a bank in Wal-Mart. Spite of opposition, Wal-Mart is still planning to make its own bank now.

Reference
Barbaro, M. Irvin, Wal-Mart wants to have banking in their stores which would make more customers attend. However, some people and Alabama disagreed with their plan. Alabama people believe Wal-Mart is trying to take over banks. Wal-Mart has more than one thousand bank branches. Instead of Wal-Mart paying to have money processed by other banks, Wal-Mart will save their money by processing their own transaction. Workers of banks and Alabama find that Wal-Marts are bringing banks into their stores is not good, because Wal-Mart has attempted to bring banking in the stores in the past and failed. Although many people in Alabama disagree with the banking Wal-Mart believes it’s a good deal for both the Wal-Mart companies and customers. Wal-Mart has been known for their on going growth in the expansion and would do anything to have their customers continue to return.

There are three reasons that it’s not a good idea to make a bank in Wal-Mart.

First, if there is a bank in Wal-Mart, a lot of local banks wii disappear because of Wal-Mart. There are a lot of banks in the United Stares like Old National, Bank of America and so on. I think it’s a good way for workers of banks and customers to put ATMs which are of those companies in Wal-Mart. It’s very convenient for customers to get cash from an ATM in Wal-Mart. In addition, if those ATMs are from Old National or Bank of America or some other bank companies, there is no fear of bankruptcy for our own bank.

Next, people want to talk about money when we get money or borrow money. At that time, the workers of banks can help and give us some advice. However, the bank in Wal-Mart can’t do like that. I think the money problem is very important for people, so we require a professional about money for customers in each bank. In addition, to be able to trust a bank is very necessary and important because of money. I think it is easier to trust local people in our own bank than a bank in Wal-Mart.

Finally, government needs to control banks. However, Wal-Mart is so huge that it’s much harder to control than small banks. It is important for government to grasp how much money each bank has. Therefore, if Wal-Mart has its own bank, the government can’t control their bank because of its size.

Wal-Mart is trying to open banking in their stores, but some people disagree with this plan. In addition, workers of banks are afraid of this action because if there is bank in Wal-Mart, their bank may go out of business. Wal-Mart thinks it’s a good way for both the Wal-Mart workers and customers.

Reference
Irvin, D. (2005, Sep. 1). Bankers warily watch Wal-Mart. Kaiser, when we built a Wal-Mart, it was in a Wisconsin small town. They would lose the history and culture. The people in the community would rather have a Wal-Mart in another community than an expansion to the Wal-Mart supercenter. Wal-Mart wants to open more stores in communities, but cities like New Orleans and Dallas refused Wal-Mart. Super Wal-Mart will now be built with more than one level, which is said to become a problem to customers, because escalators and elevators are becoming less convenient, especially for the disabled. It is said by people and in some communities that the Super Wal-Mart which sells food may take customers from other grocery stores. Wal-Marts in smaller towns are not as known as Wal-Marts in urban communities, and the people of rural towns would rather shop at grocery stores. The retailer still believes the new super Wal-Marts will become beneficial sooner or later and the builder has agreed to continue to build Wal-Marts around the United States.

I'm going to say three reasons to not make a Wal-Mart in an urban area.

First, there is not enough space to build a huge store like Wal-Mart in an urban area. There are a lot of Wal-Marts in a country which is very huge, and there is also a huge parking area there. However, how do you think that is it possible to build a big size supermarket like Wal-Mart in that area? I think "Impossible." In the cities it is crowded with small stores, museums, and so on, even if there is no Wal-Mart. Therefore, it is difficult to find a place to make it in town.

Next, if there are more and more Wal-Marts in the United States, there are fewer and fewer retail stores. I think especially in urban towns there needs to exist small shops for visitors, because it's fun to walk around shopping arcades for tourists. In addition, if a lot of retail stores disappear because of making more Wal-Marts, retailers may go out of business because of stagnation.

Finally, if Wal-Mart is made in an urban area, it may not do good business. I think Wal-Mart is especially for countrymen, because there is a huge parking area to go there by car. Also, they sell whatever we want. People who use Wal-Mart go to Wal-Mart about once a week. They buy huge things and bring the car. However, people who live in the city don't have to do that. Wal-Mart is not necessary for people who are in urban area, as people for it is for with are in the countryside.

Wal-Mart is already very popular in the United States, and it is still trying to expand with more stores. However, there is some problem to make Wal-Mart.

Reference
Kaiser, E. (2003, July 12). Some cities resisting Wal-Mart expansion. Reuters. Common Dream News Center. The government says it is needed to do that in our lives, because to test is to develop the capability for nuclear weapon. However, people who live in the place where nuclear testing takes place don’t want them to do nuclear testing, because it causes bad things for people’s health and our life.

First, it causes serious disaster like skin cancers or melanomas. According to H.Gubler (2004,par. 1), the radiation from the nuclear testing gives people skin cancers and melanomas. If someone lives near the place where nuclear testing takes place, it may be easy to get this kind of disaster. In addition, Soloman(2001, p. 1)says, “Winds routinely carried radioactive fallout to communities in Utah, Nevada, and northern Arizona… children and other living in downwind areas were beginning to develop leukemia,” Therefore, people don’t want that to be done around their house, city or country.

Next, it may have happened after some place did it. According to T.Batt(2002), because of continuous testing in Nevada, it may hasten other countries to test nuclear bomb. I think that it is like peer pressure. Even if other countries tested nuclear weapons, it is not good to do it.

Finally, it especially harms children’s body. According to Libertarian Party Press Release, (1997), “exposed people in five states to enough radiation to cause lethal thyroid cancer. Especially vulnerable: Children under age five, who received radiation dosages three to seven times above the average.” The radiation from nuclear testing is a very bad thing for human’s body, but especially children become sacrificed to nuclear testing. Children have a nice dream and a long future from now on. Adults have to accept the responsibility.

We have to think about what good is or bad is. Also, we should act on everything with our responsibilities.

Bibliography

B, Tony (2002, Apr 7) Las Vegas Review Journal.

G, Hillary (2004, Mar 24) The Spectrum

Libertarian Party Press release (1997, Aug 8) http://kaori614blogspot.com

S, Norman (2001, Jan 27) Pravda. According to J. Johnson (2003) in “Fresh Kills’ next life begins to take shape”, Fresh Kills is trying to change from just a landfill to a park now. Fresh Kills is the largest landfill in the world. It is about three times the size of Central Park. It is in Staten Island, New York City. Most landfills are terrible. They stink, they are dirty and so on. The reason they wanted to turn Fresh Kills into a park was because it was full. They couldn’t use it anymore. When it becomes like a park, more people will go there as an enjoyable or memorial place. However, it is not easy to change like that, because it takes a lot of time and costs too much to rebuild it.

K.C. Smith (2005) said that “A Manhattan federal judge suggested that 9/11 kin should settle for a memorial park using only some WTC debris from the former Fresh Kills landfill, rather than ask the city to dig up and move tons of the refuse.” However the 9/11 families of victims have a wish. Therefore, it is a very difficult problem. Families of the victims can’t forget their family who died because of the 9/11 terrorism forever. On the other hand, we have to think of our future from now on.

In addition, B. McGuire (2005) in “9/11 Families urge lawmakers to act on remains” said that some people who were killed by the 9/11 terrorism were buried under the Fresh Kills. This tragedy happened at the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001. The families of the victims are very upset and would like their dead family remains to be moved to another site, so the families asked lawmakers to pass a bill to have family remains sent to another landfill, a place where the family can mourn. Some families would like the dead’s remains to be moved to Governor’s Island.

The problem of Fresh Kills landfill is a very serious problem in New York City, and there are mainly three reasons to establish the memorial place from just landfill.

First, it would be very difficult to find all the remains in the Fresh Kills, because four years has gone since the terrorism happened. Four years is too long to find the remains under the Fresh Kills. According to Agence France Presse (2005), “The focus of the lawsuit filed in federal court by “WTC Families for Proper Burial” is around half a million tons of ash containing the remains of nearly 1,200 September 11 victims that could not be identified.” I agree with this article. The families of victims want to get their bone, but the place may be changed. Therefore, it is not a good idea to try to find all the remains.

If people tried to find remains soon, it might be easier than now. In addition, the remains’ shape may change because of the time. Because a long time has gone by, a lot of remains might have become ash. Who can recognize who they are when people look at ash? Therefore, if the remains could be found now, families of victims at 9/11 who are buried in the Fresh Kills could not ever know who they are.

According to L,Neumeister（2005), the families need to accept the fact that to find the victims is impractical and realize movement makes Fresh Kills symbol of the hollowed ground. I agree with this idea. I know that it is very difficult for families of the victims to accept the facts and stop accusimg the city. However, if they don’t accept the facts, this tragedy will never end. I think the victims of the 9/11 terrorism don’t hope so. It is kind of impossible to find all the remains now.00

K.C.Smith (2005) said that “WTC families for Proper Burial, which represents relatives of more than 1,100 victims and seeking to force the City to move up to half a million tons of debris out of the former dump.”

Second, there is not enough money to move all the remains to another place. If the remains are moved to another place, it will cost too much. Especially, if they have never found the remains, they would have to move everything. Agence France Presse (2005, Oct. 17) said that if we try to find all remains, “cost would be around 450 million dollars.”

Four hundred and fifty million dollars is a very huge sum of money. If there is 450 million dollars, people can do a lot of things. For example, people may be able to help victims of hurricanes or earthquake who are still live. They lost their house, money or family because of a disaster. Therefore, they are alive, but it is very hard for them to live like before. If there is a lot of money like 450 million dollars, the government should have to use that money making temporary housing, giving some food or something to help for them. I know the mind of those who are families member of victims of the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center. They really want to dig up the remains and get some bones. However, there are a lot of people who are alive and starving in the world. I think we have to help them if there is much money.

In addition, there are not enough workers or machines which do that. There is no money to pay for workers. Therefore, if digging up the remains is carried out under the Fresh Kills, it needs volunteers or lots of contribution. I think it is very difficult to collect 450 million dollars and the people. Even if there is enough money to do that, there is very low possibility that all remains can be found. Therefore, it is better to make a memorial place at Fresh Kills.

Finally, people will go to the memorial park after Fresh Kills is changed. According to J. Johnson (2003), “Making the landfill into a park will increase the percentage of parkland on Staten Island from 21 percent to 27 percent.” Also he said that “It will set a new standard for the transformation of former landfill into beautifully landscaped public parks.”

They could make a new monument which people want to see, like the Atomic Bomb Memorial Dome in Hiroshima, Japan. The Atomic Bomb Memorial Dome is the symbol of the atomic bomb. America dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. Pupils and junior high school students still visit there for school trip not to forget that tragedy. Therefore, making a memorial park makes the memory continue. Of course, it is not only to not forget but also to never do like that tragedy.

They can recover from the memory of Ground Zero. Therefore, it can be better for people’s healing. If the Fresh Kills is only vacant land, nobody will want to go there, and people may be able to forget easily. However, a lot of people remember the tragedy of the atom bomb by virtue of the Atomic Bomb Memorial Dome in Hiroshima, Japan.

It is very certain, because I went there when I was a junior high school student. I knew the atomic bomb was misery and sorrow. A lot of people died because of that. I learned a lot of things which I hadn’t known before, after I visited there. If I didn’t go there, I might not know about the misery of the atomic bomb, and I wouldn’t think about it. I think a lot of young people in Japan don’t know about that tragedy, so it is a good place to learn the history of before we were born. Therefore, a making memorial park gives us a chance to know what happened.

The Atomic Bomb Memorial Dome is the most famous memorial park for me, but I know a lot of memorial places in the world. For example, thereis Chernobyl in Ukraine or the Atomic Bomb Museum in Nagasaki, Japan. Both are very good tourist attractions. In addition, if Fresh Kills becomes a memorial park, it may get money by admission fee. Money which is gotten from memorial park entrance fee can be given to the families of victims. I think this is one of the ways to help them. It can’t change money to life, but it is better than nothing. Making a memorial park has great power to remember an unfortunate occurrence.

Now, Fresh Kills is trying to change from just a landfill to a memorial park. If it becomes a good memorial park, it will be a good thing. Making the memorial place has mainly three reasons. First, it is difficult to find all the remains. Second, there is not enough money to move all the remains. Finally, people will go to the memorial park after it changes.

More and more people go to New York City for sightseeing from other states in the U.S. or foreign countries. Therefore, there is a lot of opportunity to let many people know what happened there. When I went to Staten Island in New York City this Thanksgiving break, it was still just a landfill but I think that landfill must be a very nice memorial park is a few years, because it is located near the Statue of Liberty. Therefore, a lot of people will go there. When you go to New York, why don’t you visit and think about that tragedy again?

We can’t change the past, so we should do something to get better from now on. People have begun to think about environmental problems. It took much time to notice that, but we need to make an effort to change from now on. In addition, the government must make some good plans. It means not only the environment but also our future. Fresh Kills a good example. People have used oil without thinking, so it has become a valuable thing and expensive. People might know that resource is not an endless thing by this causes. We must not waste resource, otherwise they will run out. We can do a lot of things for improvement. For example, reuse, recycle and reduce. Now, if people think about environmental problems more seriously, environmental destruction will decrease.
Bibliography

Agence France Presse (2005, Oct. 17). However, a lot of america's illegal immigrants don't bring their family like their wife or children. The U.S. has 11 million illegal immigrants, 2.3 million illegal immigrants without their family ang 8.7 million illegal immigrants are living with their families. Almost all illegal immigrant men are emplyed and women are at home and raising the children. Tighter border security has made migrant families high population. Therefore, a lot of women and children go to the U.S.A.

I know about getting high population immigrant in the U.S., but I didn't know that a lot of american's illegal immigrants don't bring their family. In my country, Japan, there is no so many immigration there. I guess almost 98% poeple are Japanese. On the other hand, in America, there a lot of immigration like from China, South America or Europe. Therefore, there are lots of opportunity to know and get another culture and habit. According to Jim Johnson (2003), the largest landfill in New York called Fresh Kills is trying to change from just a landfill to a park now. When it becomes like a park, more people will go there as an enjoyable place. However, it is not easy to change like that, because it takes a lot of time and costs too much to rebuild it. In addition, McGuire (2005) said that some people who were killed by the 9/11 terrorism were buried under the Fresh Kills. The families of the victims are very upset and would like their dead family remains to be moved to another site, so the families asked lawmakers to pass a bill to have family remains sent to another landfill, a place where the family can mourn. Some families would like the dead’s remains to be moved to Governor’s Island.

The problem of Fresh Kills landfill is a serious problem in New York City, and there are three reasons to make a memorial place.

First, it would be very difficult to find all the remains in the Fresh Kills, because four years has gone since the terrorism happened. Four years is too long to find the remains under the Fresh Kills. If people tried to find remains soon, it might be easier than now. In addition, remains’ shape may change because of the time. Because long time goes by, a lot of remains might become ash. Therefore, if the remains could be found out now, families of victims at 9/11 who are buried in the Fresh Kills could not ever know who they are. It is kind of impossible to find all the remains now.

Second, there is not enough money to move all remains to another place. If the remains are moved to another place, it would cost too much. In addition, there is not enough workers or machines which do that. Even if there is enough money to do that, there is very low possibility that all remains can be found. Therefore, it is better to make a memorial place at Fresh Kills.

Finally, people will go to the memorial park after Fresh Kills is changed. They would make one the new monument which people want to see like the Atomic Bomb Memorial Dome in Hiroshima, Japan. In addition, people don’t forget tragedy. They can recover from the memory of Ground Zero. Therefore, it can be better for people’s healing. If Fresh Kills is only vacant land, nobody will want to go there, and people may be able to forget easily. However, a lot of people remember the tragedy of the atom bomb by virtue of the Atomic Bomb Memorial Dome in Hiroshima ,Japan. Making a memorial park has great power to remember an unfortunate occurrence.

We can’t change the past, so we should do something to get better from now on. Making the memorial place has mainly three reasons. It is difficult to find all the remains. There is not enough money to move all the remains. People will go to the memorial park after it changes. People have begun to think about environmental problems. It took much time to notice that, but we need to make an effort to change from now on. In addition, the government must make some good plan for our future.

Reference:
Johnson, J. (2003, Nov. 10). Fresh Kills’ next life begins to take shape. Therefore, I was wondering where garbage goes. There is no space to dump because of too much waste. According to Jim Johnson (2003), Fresh Kills is trying to change from just a landfill to a park now. When it become like a park, more people will go to there as a enjoyable place. Some families would like the deadÅfs remains to be moved to GovernorÅfs Island. People should think about it seriously and make plans which will make the situation better. Why didn’t people think about environmental problems until the problems serious? They had to notice before. If they noticed earlier, its solution would have been easy.

I plan on this writing that three things should be done about solution this Fresh Kills problem. People should make a great memorial place in the landfill. First, it is very difficult to find all the remains. Second, if remains are moved to another place, it will cost too much. Finally, people can go to the memorial park after it has changed. Therefore, it will become a place which people want to visit.

I have found a variety of articles that give background information on the Fresh Kills landfill , and have found a useful website that helps to describe the problem. I
still research articles about what we should do for getting better Fresh Kills.

Reference:
Johnson,J. ( 2003, Nov. 10 ). People and family members were hurt and some were killed. According to McGuire after four years, family members are still mourning the death of their loved ones, so many people died that they are still remains. That could not be identified in New York City’s landfill. Some people who were killed and the 9/11 terrorism ashes remain in the Fresh Kills landfill. The families of the victims are very upset and would like their dead family remains to be moved to another sight, so the families expressed to lawmakers to pass a bill to have family remains sent to another landfill, a place where the family can mourn. Some families would like the dead’s remains to be moved to Governor’s Island. In my essay, I will write about three reasons for Fresh Kills to be better for people.

First, a landfill should be an enjoyable place like a park. If this landfill is a big park, a lot of people will want to go there, and it might be new place which people can enjoy to visit. For example, if it is going to be a big park or enjoyable place, people can have more communication with each other. And if people can enjoy something like a picnic there, people can recover from the memory of Ground Zero. Therefore, it can be better for people’s healing.

Next, if many people visit the landfill by creating the park, it could be better for increasing public income. It can be used for reconstruction of the building which was destroyed by the 9/11 terrorism, and for contribution to the victims of terrorism. Although increasing public income directly does not help the victims’ mind, it may help the victim to live from now on.

Finally, the biggest problem about Fresh Kills is that there are still many victims laid there, so families of the dead, who would like for their dead loved ones remains to be moved to another place other than Fresh Kills, because families of the dead hope to bury each of them in this own place.

There are still a lot of remains in Fresh Kills, and they have not been identified; this problem may cause both an environmental problem and a problem for victims’ memory of the 9/11 terrorism, so the government should solve this problem. There are three main reasons why they should correct from Fresh Kills. Creating the landfill as a park gives people better relations and healing from the event of terrorism. Also many victims are helped by creating the park for getting public income. And the remains should be removed to aother place for honor of values. Thus, solving Fresh Kills’ problem may help victims and the victims’ families and it can regain from the memory of terrorism for every victims.

Reference:
McGuire ,B. It is trying to change from just a landfill to a park now. There were more waste in New York City after the terrorism on the World Trade Center. Staten Islanders saw a lot of garbage like a mountain for a long time and they live with it. However, it is not easy to change from a landfill to a park, because it takes a lot of time and costs too much to be rebuild it. However, there is the value that making a landfill into a park will get many people to go there. New York, as we know, is the most densely developed city in the nation. At one time, it has some environmental problems like this. Now, people have begun to think about that and try to change to something better.

First, the most important thing to change to be better is to make plans. Why didn’t people think about environmental problems until theses problems became serious? They had to noticed before. If they notice earlier, its solution would have been easiler. For example, there are many dumps around the world. However, they don’t know what they should do because of too much garbage. Before it is getting worse than now, we have to plan for our future.

Next, recycling helps the environmental problem. These days, it is getting famous to recycle aluminum cans, glass bottles and so on. When I was a little child, it was not famous and people often didn’t do that. People have judge if it is a renewable resource or nonrenewable resource, and judge whether they can dump or can recycle.

Last, wrapping papers use less than before. It means clerks may ask you “Do you need a bag to put this in?” or something. Or clerks don’t wrap things several times now. Because actually we don’t need a lot of wrapping paper or extra bags; it becomes just trash. In addition, some supermarkets discount if we bring our own bag for shopping. As a result, their consciousness is changing the amount of trash. Also, we don’t need to use excess paper and bags.

People have begun to think about environmental problems and are trying to change their action at ling last. It took much tome to notice that, but we need to make an effort to change from now on. If people wrestle with this problem, it might be better.

Reference
Johnson,J. According to Alan Whyte, there days, New York has very hot and humid weather. It is very serious because the drying weather causes drought. In addition, it sometimes runs people into death. Global warming causes great harm, which is high sea level, gases, the temperature increase, ground level ozone and so on. In a hundred years, the results are very dreadful in New York. However, if people keep using natural resources, it is an awful problem not only in New York City but also all over the world. We have to think about the conservation of nature, and it is time to take action as soon as possible.

First, people only think about how to make their lives more comfortable . Therefore, they use a lot of electricity easily, but the more comfortable their life, the worse environment. For example, people don’t stand to use air conditioner or heater. When they feel hot or cold just a little bit, they turn them on. In addition, some may turn on the air conditioner very low and they may wear a lot, or the heater very high and eat ice cream. However, it causes global warming.

Next, people use the car when they go out. Even if it is near, they may do that. Cars are very convenient because they can go to place where people want to go. However, cars emit gas and it causes global warming. Everyone knows that, but nobody thinks about reducing their use of cars. I know why. It is a very simple answer. This answer is because cars are the most convenient ; they are comfortable and easier than bikes, trains, subways or buses. When we ride a train, subways or buses, we have to walk to the station. When we ride a bike, it requires to energy. Therefore , people prefer cars to other vehicles.

There are many environmental problems today. People must think about it and try to reduce using cars, electrical appliances and so on. They are imitating blindness , but now is the time to think seriously and do something for global warming.

Reference:
Whyte, A (2005, Apr.1). Especially, lots of forests are destroyed because people need to get trees for building houses. In addition, there is no place to build hiuses. People always look for their life to become more comfortable. Therefore, Japan has become developed country; however it is not easy for wild animals to live because people rob yhem of places. In addition, the air is getting dirty because of the loss of trees. We have to use trees that fell over in the typhoon or other disaster. However, these days, a lot of people are doing aerobic exercise like jogging, swimming and bicycling. It goes without saying this increase over the pant is important for our health as Seal (1997) indicate. I agree exercise may help our health.
Seal in “Exercise” says that exercise can help our body and heart. However, people don’t keep up with it regularly. Exercising has lots of benefits. It reduces cholesterol and helps overweight people to lose their weight, but people don’t do it regularly and constantly enough. It is not easy to keep doing anything. It may need to spaces, equipment, or time. However to keep doing is very important I agree with this article. It is true exercising is good way for our body to keep health. In addition, I can feel relaxed and refreshed after exercise. However, I also know it is very difficult to keep exercising. I often give up soon, but I’m sure that it is a good to keep going regularly. If they do not, people get healthy benefits from exercise.

Reference: Seal,B. (1997) Exercise. In addition, it arises from our mental and physical reactions. If you feel stress, its symptoms appear is a lot of different ways. It is caused by stressors life events like divorce, losing a job, and so on. When we feel stress, we react to stressor in three stages, which is called the general adaptation syndrome. First, “the alarm reaction” is to notice and recognize the stress and after that “resistance” is to confront the stress. If it’s controlled, it’s O.K.
